2006 Result : Beneriano gets his monkey off

After seven years of hurt, Beneriano El Nino confirmed his destiny and finally got that masters monkey off his back. A superb victory on 36 points off a 16 handicap.

On a beautiful hot summer’s day (max temp 30C) Beneriano El Nino was crowned Slags champion golfer for 2006 with a solid 36 points playing off a 16 handicap.
El Nino’s play was steady rather than stunning. Two sections of the course sealed victory. Beneriano kept his score to just 3 over for holes 3-8 and 3 over for holes 10-17.
The final nails in the coffin were banged in on 17 with a shaky tee shot but great up and down for his final 2 points of the day.

** A massive moment of controversy when El Nino smashed a drive down the middle of the fairway on the long drive whole only to see his ball hit the bag of rival big hitter Slammin Sam and richochet sideways losing 20 yards of carry which would have seen him take an unprecedented triple crown of trophies.

Julio was left with a nasty taste in his mouth, narrowly taking silver. Reigning champ Jonhard did not disgrace himself too badly.
Dork almost did his usual trick in handing the thing on a platter to his ringo ringer mates. Proffessional sportsman Sam was gifted the tournament on a 12 handicap before being cut seemingly mid round by a shame faced Dork.
Big Mac took up the rear with the wooden spoon.
